Double Digits!

Bradon celebrated his 10th birthday on September 24th.  He is officially in DOUBLE DIGITS!

He was so excited to finally open his birthday present he received in the mail from Grandma Adair.

He took treats to school for his class.  David surprised him by checking him out of school early to go golfing.  I made cupcakes and took them to his football practice where the whole team sang to him.  David and I took him out to Winger for his special birthday dinner with just mom and dad.

The next day he got to take his friend Max to the BYU football game.

Where the die hard Ute fan (Max) got to enjoy his
first cougar tail!

And then this past Monday he had a
birthday party at Classic Skate Fun Center.
Happy Birthday Bradon!
We hope you had a fabulous 10th birthday!

Forever Strong

About a year ago a movie came out in the theaters called Forever Strong.
It's about the Highland rugby team out of Salt Lake City, Utah.  My boys absolutely loved the movie and so when it came out on DVD we bought it.  They watched it over and over again.  They would go out into the backyard and try to play rugby, they would talk with all their buddies as if they knew everything about rugby.  Pretty soon they were out selling Kook-Aid on the corner trying to come up with enough money to buy their very own rugby ball.  Sure enough, they did it!  You should have seen all the boys in the neighborhood the day that rugby ball came in the mail.  They were all so excited!  They all took turns holding it, throwing  it around, and they went on and on talking about how BIG it was!  It was defiantly a proud day around here!

A week ago our ward had a youth conference called Forever Strong, after the movie Forever Strong.  At the end of the conference they had a fireside and Coach Larry Gelwix of the Highland rugby team was the guest speaker.  Everyone in the ward 8 years and older was invited.  We were so excited for this opportunity to hear Coach Gelwix!
Coach Gelwix gave a phenomenal talk!  Ethan and Bradon listened carefully to every word he said.  When it was all over people were going up to meet him and shake his hand.  Some people were even having him autograph things.  David ran Bradon home to get his rugby ball and then Coach Gelwix signed it for him.  Coach Gelwix was so cute with the boys!  He taught Bradon how to give a nice firm handshake.  After the lesson he shook Ethan's hand and told him that he was already a pro.  It was a wonderful experience and opportunity for our boys and we are so thankful for the great leadership in our ward who put it all together.

1.  Choose who's team you're on.
Suit up and be proud to wear the uniform!

2.  Don't play with snakes!
It's either right or it's wrong!

3.  Don't go thirsty!
Liken the scriptures.

4.  Get out of the boat and drive the wagon!
Don't fear failure, get out of the boat like Peter!

BE FOREVER STRONG!

I'm one step closer to becoming darn near perfect!

I'm on a quest to become
A DOMESTIC DIVA!

I've learned how to make bread
and now I can can peaches too!

My friend Jen Winder came over the other day and taught me how to can peaches. This may seem like a small insignificant thing to some people, but to me it's HUGE!  I'm learning skills to becoming self sufficient.  In my backyard I have a cherry tree, a peach tree and an apple tree.  All three trees bear fruit and I have yet to take full advantage of the food they produce.  Being a mormon woman that I am, the opportunity to learn these domestic skills have been poured out upon me throughout my whole life.  Starting way back when I was a Merrie Miss, then in Young Women's and Relief Society.  I however had NO INTEREST in learning these skills or taking advantage of what was right before me.  I guess to everything there is a season, and it just wasn't my season, until now!

He loves me, he loves me not.

He loves me!

Every now and then David surprises me with flowers!
When we were first married he would often pick up a dozen red roses for me on his way home from work (almost weekly).  This was very sweet!  I loved it however I made a comment one day that the money he was spending on the flowers could probably be used on groceries.  This was THE WRONG THING TO SAY!  He decided at that very moment that I didn't like flowers and therefore he was not going to waste his money on flowers for me anymore!  I felt a little misunderstood, but we needed the money for groceries and so I let it lie.
He has made comment after comment over the years about how I don't like receiving flowers! I have tried to defend myself but have never felt victorious in convincing him otherwise.
This week David surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of colorful roses.  I love them, I love them not,  I love them!
So for the record...
I do love flowers!

Thanks David, I love you too!

Little Miss Athlete!

Reagan is playing soccer again and absolutely loving it!

When it's her turn to sit out she pays no attention to the game,
but enjoys the company of her other teammates!

She loves to play goalie whenever she gets a chance.
No matter if the ball is on her end of the field or not,
she always manages to have a good time!
That's my girl!

It's fun to watch her go after the ball, left footed and everything!

I love how at this age all the kids go after the ball
in a cluster like formation!
GO REAGAN!!!

And she takes it away...

She goes all the way down field with it!
GO REAGAN!!!
... and it was stopped by the goalie!
Oh well, maybe next time!

After the game Reagan told me that ever since she scored a goal in that other game, the girls are all much faster now and so she can't score another goal.
She seemed pretty okay with it, it was just a matter of fact!

GOAL or NO GOAL,
we still love our "Little Miss Athlete"!

The Three Musketeers!

This is Carsten with 2 of his best friends,
Tate Ingram and Jared Jensen.
What a cute picture!

All summer long Carsten and Tate have been almost inseparable.  We've been thinking of just changing Carsten's name to Carsten Ingram for as often as he's over at their place.  Tate is a good kid and a great influence on Carsten.  Now I'm not saying that Carsten isn't a good kid, I'm just saying that Tate brings out the best in Carsten and for that we are thrilled!  Carsten and Tate are in the same class at school this year too!
Jared is in our ward and plays on Carsten's football team with him.  They have become great friends.   Jared is such a good kid and David and I love his parents too!
Tate and Jared were in the same class last year and have been good friends for awhile now.

On Saturday we invited Tate to come to Carsten and Jared's football game.   It was cute to see how excited all three of them were.  It was a lot of fun for Carsten and Jared to have Tate come see them play and I think Tate had fun watching them too!

We hope that The Three Musketeers can stay friends for a long time to come!
