Forever Strong

About a year ago a movie came out in the theaters called Forever Strong.  

It's about the Highland rugby team out of Salt Lake City, Utah.  My boys absolutely loved the movie and so when it came out on DVD we bought it.  They watched it over and over again.  They would go out into the backyard and try to play rugby, they would talk with all their buddies as if they knew everything about rugby.  Pretty soon they were out selling Kook-Aid on the corner trying to come up with enough money to buy their very own rugby ball.  Sure enough, they did it!  You should have seen all the boys in the neighborhood the day that rugby ball came in the mail.  They were all so excited!  They all took turns holding it, throwing  it around, and they went on and on talking about how BIG it was!  It was defiantly a proud day around here!  

A week ago our ward had a youth conference called Forever Strong, after the movie Forever Strong.  At the end of the conference they had a fireside and Coach Larry Gelwix of the Highland rugby team was the guest speaker.  Everyone in the ward 8 years and older was invited.  We were so excited for this opportunity to hear Coach Gelwix!

Coach Gelwix gave a phenomenal talk!  Ethan and Bradon listened carefully to every word he said.  When it was all over people were going up to meet him and shake his hand.  Some people were even having him autograph things.  David ran Bradon home to get his rugby ball and then Coach Gelwix signed it for him.  Coach Gelwix was so cute with the boys!  He taught Bradon how to give a nice firm handshake.  After the lesson he shook Ethan's hand and told him that he was already a pro.  It was a wonderful experience and opportunity for our boys and we are so thankful for the great leadership in our ward who put it all together.

1.  Choose who's team you're on.  

Suit up and be proud to wear the uniform!

2.  Don't play with snakes!  

It's either right or it's wrong!

3.  Don't go thirsty!  

Liken the scriptures.

4.  Get out of the boat and drive the wagon!  

Don't fear failure, get out of the boat like Peter!
