Reagan's Hair blog!

This is the hair do for today's hair blog entry.  Reagan wants a hair blog so bad!  I told her that we could post blogs about her hair on our family blog.  She says, "I want my own blog!"  I say, "Now you know what it feels like to want!"

So we did french braids on either side meeting up in the middle.  And then we combined the ends of our french braids and did a fish tail braid down the back.

Then for the first time ever in Reagan's 4 1/2 year old life we curled her hair with a curling iron!  It curled up nicely because her hair was dirty!  I told Reagan this and she said, "Hair gets dirty?"

When is it going to be Sunday?

This morning Reagan came up to me and asked, "When is it going to be Sunday?"  I told her not for a few more days.  Then she asked me, "Do you know why I love Sunday?"  I  asked why?  She said, "Because my teacher is Harley!"  Then she said, "Do you love her?"  I said, "Yes, I love Sister Harley!"  Then she said, " I love her!"

This was the cutest little conversation.  The love of a child is so pure!  I called Sister Harley to tell her about our conversation.  Sister Harley said that she loves Reagan too!   Lately Reagan is either teaching an imaginary preschool class or she's teaching all of her imaginary friends a primary lesson.  Cute little girl!

When is it going to be summer?

Today after the kids went to school, Reagan asked me "When is it going to be summer?" Later in the day when the kids came home from school, Carsten asked me, "When is it going to be summer?"  So do you think the kids are getting sick of winter?

The first day of summer is June 21st.
We only have 145 days to wait!

The LDS Film Festival!

It was great having Mark and Camille and Grandma Arnett here with us for the Film Festival!  Mark was extremely sick with an unknown illness causing him to lose his voice, have terrible coughing episodes and to feel 100% miserable!  On Thursday they were at the Festival watching a film and one of his coughing episodes began.  He got up and quickly walked toward the back of the theater for the door.  The next thing he remembers is that some man was helping him off the floor.  He had fainted!  While fainting he did a fancy face plant leaving his face with an attractive rug burn!  Poor Mark, things were going from bad to worst for him!  I was quite worried about him and his worsening condition.  I called my sister Staci and told her about what had happened.  She went ballistic insisting that he goes to urgent care.  She hung up the phone with me and called Mark giving him a BIG piece of her mind!  Needless to say, Mark went to urgent care that night!  They decided that he has bronchitis and they gave him some really good drugs.  Friday he stayed home laying low and by Saturday he was able to go to the Festival for his big Film Festival debut!

We got a sitter for Talan and took the rest of the kids.  It was a lot of fun!  There were lots of people there to see the film.  One of the staff members told us that up until then, Baby Boomerang had had the largest audience of the festival so far.  Awesome huh?

I absolutely loved Baby Boomerang!  I had seen it before but last time I saw it was when Mark showed it in a movie theater after Grandpa's funeral.   I don't know if I was a little numb then or what but it touched me so much more this time.  I really miss Grandpa!

My good friends Shari and Laurie came to see the movie.   They both said that they really enjoyed it!  I told them that they were my BEST friends for coming!

We had a good time hanging out with Mark and Camille.

And Grandma too!
Grandma is so dang cute!  She was really good at promoting the film.  She would hand out flyers while telling people all about the film.  With tears in her eyes she would tell them that Grandpa died last March.  I think that the first time she got all chocked up it surprised her that she was so emotional.  Then she realized that her emotions really brought in a personal touch and she found she had people promising her they would come to the film.  From then on I think she hammed it up a bit using her emotions for the best!

Reagan loved spending time with her GREAT Grandma!  I think Grandma enjoyed spending time with Reagan too!

Thanks Mark and Camille for choosing us to stay with.  We had a fabulous time!  Congratulations on a successful Film Festival and it's good to see that you're starting to feel a little better.  Oh yeah, and thanks for all the good laughs about the rug burn!

Baby Boomerang.

My Uncle Mark and my Aunt Camille and my Grandma Arnett are coming to Utah for the LDS film festival and they will be staying with ME.  I'm really looking forward to their visit and so are my kids!  Everyday Reagan asks me,
"When is my Great Grandma going to get here?"

My Uncle Mark made a documentary film about my Grandfather Charles Arnett and his World War II experience called Baby Boomerang.  It took him 14 years to make this film and he completed it just 1 week after my Grandfather passed away last March.  The film is really quite good!  My Uncle is a very talented, creative and funny person.  His film has been chosen to be in the 2009 LDS film festival.  The festival is this week and Baby Boomerang will be shown on Saturday, January 24th @ 12:00 noon At the SCERA Center for the Arts in Orem (745 South State Street, Orem, Utah).  Tickets are only $4.00 each.  We are hoping that anyone and everyone will attend.  If there is anyway you can make it, please do!

Tickets can be purchased at the door or on line at scera.org
For more information about the festival go to www.ldsfilmfestival.org
If you want to learn more about Mark and Baby Boomerang then go to www.babyboomerang.com.

www.piggiesnponies.blogspot.com

I was on my friends blog and she had a link to www.piggiesnponies.blogspot.com on her blog.  I clicked on it and found the cutest blog for anyone that has a girl!
It has one cute hair do after another!  Lately Reagan has been a little difficult when it comes to doing her hair.  I showed her the blog and let her pick a hair do.  This is the one she picked!  I think it turned out pretty cute!  Reagan sat extremely still for me and she was so excited about her new do!  When I got done and took pictures of her hair, she insisted that we need to have our own special blog of hair do's!

I'm loving this messy bun too!

Ethan is a winner!

The other day Ethan received a package in the mail.  I couldn't think of what it could possibly be.  When I gave him the package he couldn't think of what it could possibly be either.  Then he opened it up and remembered that he had entered a Viking Penguin Giveaway Contest a few months ago on Club Penguin.  He was so excited!  This was a limited edition Viking Penguin and only 3000 kids all over the world would receive one!  He couldn't believe that he had actually won one!  And it was absolutely free!  He said, "Mom, we didn't even have to pay shipping and handling or anything!  It was totally free!"  Ethan was beaming!  They couldn't have picked a better kid or a better Club Penguin fan to give this Viking Penguin to.
Congratulations Ethan on your big win!

www.Frespa.net

My brother is just about to open the 1st of 6 spas in Arizona.  It's called frespa!  While David and I were in Arizona we got to take a personal tour of the Mesa Red Mountain location.  It was awesome!  I think that the membership club and refer your friends and spa for free program is an extraordinary concept!  I wish I was living by a frespa so that I could spa for free.  Heck I think that most of us probably spend $90.00 on ourselves every month without even realizing it!  Hair, nails, massage, tanning...  This spa is like going to a resort!  They even have an area with free soda and frozen yogurt for the members to enjoy while hanging out with their friends watching the flat screen.  I am so excited for Christopher and his new adventure ahead of him.  If you live in Arizona you should really check it out!  If you go to his website, www.frespa.net click on the $19.99 full hour massage offer.  It's an introductory offer to give you a taste of what frespa is all about.  It's a great deal!  If you don't live in Arizona but live in Utah, check it out because if the spas do well in Arizona they will be coming to Utah next!  I can hardly wait to spa for FREE!

Cardinal update.

The Cardinals beat the Panthers in their second playoff game and now they will go back to their home turf and take on the Eagles this Sunday.  If they win they will be going to the Super bowl!
Wow!
Way to go Cards!

Cardinals game!

While we were in Arizona David and I went to the first ever Cardinal Playoff game.

We couldn't believe the sea of red in the stands!  Arizona has turned Cardinal Crazy!  When we left Arizona to move to Utah I don't think that I actually knew of anyone who owned a Cardinal jersey or anything Cardinal for that matter.  The stands were packed and I think everyone there owned their very own $60.00 Cardinal jersey!  Impressive!  It's amazing what winning will do to  a town!

David and I hadn't ever been to the new stadium.  It was awesome!  A retractable roof and a retractable field with real turf!  Everything was state of the art.

We watched as two drunken fans got in a fist fight over who knows what.  A few guys behind us started talking smack back and forth to each other and then turned into friends buying each other beers.  Complete strangers were giving us high fives and hugging and kissing their loved ones with every good play!  It was a fun night filled with some great entertainment!

The Cardinals beat the Falcons and now they're on to their second playoff game in Arizona history!

 GO CARDINALS!

Talan's 1st birthday!

For Talan's first birthday we did a combined party with his cousin Abraham who was born just 18 hours after him.  We went to Peter Piper Pizza and on the way to the party I realized that I had picked the worst time possible to have a party for a 1 year old.  NAP TIME!  What was I thinking?

At first Talan was not so sure about any of it!
Grandma tried to put him on some of the fun little kiddie rides and he wanted nothing to do with it!

He enjoyed walking around and checking everything out though.

He liked the prizes!

And then he took a special liking to the ice cream truck ride.
It was just his size!  He could climb in and out of it on his own!

So cute!

Then it was time for cake.
I decorated the boys this Winnie the Pooh cake.

Staci and I are so happy to have boys so close in age.

Time to blow out the candles!
This was something that they both didn't understand at all.

We gave the boys each there very own HUGE piece of cake!
Talan was obsessed with his fork.  He insisted on eating his cake with his fork.  He was actually quite clean with his piece of cake.  Abraham on the other hand loved using his hands.  He made a huge mess and when he was all done he put his plate on top of his head!  Too cute!

After a little while of not getting very far with his fork, Talan decided to dive right it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TALAN!
Talan has been an absolute blessing to our family.  We are so happy that we have him and we enjoy him every single day!  I just couldn't imagine our lives without him!

We love you Talan!

The Post Adair family Christmas party.

On Monday December 29th Jeannine hosted her annual Adair family Christmas party except for this time it was POST Christmas!

The Adair family is one family not lacking in the boy department.  The boys all had a good time hanging out just being boys!

We ate the traditional 'LOTS OF GOOD FOOD' meal.

And then grandma Adair had a fun activity that we all could enjoy.  We played Christmas songs using metal pipes of different lengths with really big nails.  My kids loved it!  I'm thinking that I need to get me a set of those pipes because that's a talent I think our family could develop!

The kids were in heavy concentration as they played their pipes!

Then we busted the pinata!  Talan got to go first!

It was a lot of fun!  For Jeannine Christmas just doesn't feel like Christmas until she has had her annual Adair family Christmas party!  I'm glad that she did it this year and I'm glad that she waited until after Christmas so that we could attend.

The things kids say...

Carsten:  Reagan has buck teeth!
Me:  No she doesn't!
Carsten:  Yes she does!  Look at her front teeth,
they are bigger than the rest.
Me:  Just wait until your big teeth come in,
they will be a lot bigger than that!
Carsten: Look, these parent teeth have already
come in and they aren't that big!
Me:  Your parent teeth?

I guess if they start out being baby teeth,
why wouldn't they be called parent teeth!

Christmas all over again!

When we got to Arizona we had Christmas all over again!  The Grandmas went over and above the call of  GRANDCHILD SPOILER!  My mom gave each of the kids a book and a $25.00 gift card to spend at Walmart.  We went on a little shopping spree and it's amazing what you can get for $25.00!  The kids were thrilled!
Then at Grandma Adair's house all the kids got ASU shirts and PJs.  The kids are turning into pretty avid ASU fans these days.  I think they like to be able to claim a team that's all their own!

Driving to Arizona

The day after Christmas we hit the road a little later than originally planned due to the weather/road conditions.  We were driving on ice until we got out of Cedar City.  We had originally planned on taking the 20 and going through Page, Arizona.  But just before we reached the 20 exit it started to snow pretty heavy.  We saw a snow plow and thought that if we could just get behind the plow we would be just fine.  So we got off at the exit and then the plow turned around and headed back onto the 15!  We sat there for a few minuets in debate.  Going through Las Vegas was so much longer.  As we sat there looking at the 20 ahead of us, I got a terrified sick feeling inside and told David that I thought that we needed to turn around and get back on the 15.  So we did!  The trip was really long.  The back up at the dam was an hour and a half long and 14 hours later we finally reached my parents house safe and sound.

In Cedar City we stopped at McDonalds to eat.  The kids played in the play place and in this  little room they had with balls.  It was time to leave and the kids had left Talan all by himself in the little room.  So I went to go get him.  I walked in the room and didn't see him.  I thought, "Well where could he be?"  and then I saw some movement inside this little game like contraption thingy.  He had climbed inside of it!  I thought that it was so cute that I made David go out to the truck to get the camera.
