My sick cough!

The other day Reagan told us that she was sick.
She said "Do you know why I'm sick?"
We said "No, Why are you sick?"
She said "My cough!  My cough has sick in it!"

I love it!  Children have the best ways of describing life!  Anyways, Reagan may have had a small cold or possibly some allergies, but she isn't really sick!  At least not today!

Reagan has a 4th birthday coming up on monday.  We are going to have a Strawberry Shortcake party!  Yesterday we ran around town getting stuff for her party.  She is very opinionated about what she wants and who she wants to invite!   Our camera broke and we had to get a new one.  I am now learning how to work my new fancy camera.  So as soon as I learn how to get the pictures on the computer, I will post new pictures.  I am sure that we will have lots of pictures of the BIG Strawberry Shortcake party!

Our oldest son Ethan.

Ethan is our oldest son.  He is 10 years old and in the 4th grade.  He goes to Freedom Elementary School and his teacher is Mrs. Fredrickson.
He is really smart!  Ethan loves to read.  He has read book after book after book ever since he learned to read.  Maybe that's why he is so smart!
Ethan also loves to draw!  He has a creatures book filled with artwork of creatures that he has created.  He has named ever creature and knows them by name.  Ethan has an excellent imagination!
Ethan also loves the computer.  His favorite site is Clubpenguin.com.  He loves to check the computer first thing each morning.  He has created his own blog too!  It's www.ethanadair.blogspot.com.  He did it all by himself!  I'm telling you, this kid is good!  He can do anything he puts his mind to.
Ethan also loves small stuffed animals and small action figures.  Currently he loves Webkinz!  And he has always been a huge fan of Avatar the last Airbender.
Ethan has been taking karate for almost 2 years now.  He is a purple belt!  When you are a purple belt you can spar.  This is a picture of Ethan in his sparing gear getting ready to spar.
We have also discovered that Ethan is a good golfer.  David took him a few times last year and Ethan really liked it.  Ethan got his own set of clubs for Christmas and he looks forward to going golfing with his dad a lot more this year.  He is also signed up to take a golf class this summer.
In Cub Scouts, Ethan is a Webelo and his dad was just recently called to be the Webelo's den leader.  It should be fun for the two of them!
Ethan has a special relationship with both of his grandmothers.  He has bonded with both of them in a way unlike my other children.  He calls them all the time on the phone just to chat and tell them about things going on in his life.  They both think that world of him and I am very grateful for their love for him and their special bond they have with each other.
We are so lucky to have Ethan in our lives!  He is such a good kid!  He really has a tender heart and he really tries to do what's right.  He is a good big brother to all of his siblings and an excellent help to me especially with his new baby brother Talan!  He probably gets sick of me asking him to help me out all the time but he does it without complaint!  I think that Ethan is becoming more and more responsible everyday.  I am excited to watch him grow into a young man and see what he can become.  I know that he is going to do great things with his life!  He is an amazing person and I love him so much!  And I think that he loves me too!

Our Dog Teegs

This is our dog TEEGS!
We got Teegs from Petsmart's lost paws program almost two years ago.
He is a beautiful golden retriever and a really good dog!
We are NOT dog people...  Our kids have an unusual fear of dogs...
So why do we have a dog?  Good question!
This is a question that David and I have asked ourselves over and over again.  Originally we got Teegs because we thought that if we had a dog of our own than the kids would overcome their fear of dogs.  They would realize that dogs are good!  Did this happen? No!  However whenever we suggest getting rid of Teegs and giving him to another family who loves dogs, the kids cry "No, we like Teegs.  We will play with him.  Don't give him away!"  So Teegs stays!  I guess he is apart of our family.
In a stay outside kind of way!
It really is hard to look at him and not love him.  He's a good dog!

Quite the Hottie!

Reagan found a pair of sun glasses from her birthday party last year.
We thought we would put them on Talan to see how he looked in them.  Turns out that he's Quite the Hottie!

Infamous Nyah

Nyah and Reagan
Playing under the kitchen table
with their candy necklaces on!
Nyah and Reagan had a little play date yesterday.  Reagan loves Nyah!  She thinks that she is the coolest person she has ever met.  Nyah is one year older than Reagan and Reagan really looks up to her.  Everything is always about Nyah.  "I want my hair long like Nyah!"  or "Let's play house and my name is Nyah."  or "This is my baby doll and her name is Nyah."  She has even named her stuffed animals Nyah!  She is pretty much obsessed with NYAH!
Nyah is a cute girl and we really like her.  We love her parents too!  So yesterday was a good day!  A day with Nyah!

More Snow

These are pictures of the kids coming home from school yesterday!
Another snowy day in Utah!  No wonder my tulips are having a hard time coming out!
Ethan
Max and Bradon
Max is our neighbor who Bradon plays with all the time!
They are two peas in a pod!
Taylor and Carsten
Taylor is Max's little brother.
They are showing off the fruit leather that they found.
Yesterday was also Kite Day for the kindergarten.
Needless to say, it was canceled!

The Hogle Zoo

On Friday, April 18th we went to The Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City.
We went with Jay and Vicky, Emily, Heidi, Elise, Luke, Vanessa, and Marcus, and Ruth Ann, Taylor, Russell and Benjamin.
We had a good time and really quite liked the Hogle Zoo!

Ethan, Elise, Carsten and Bradon checking out the giraffes.

Now that's one TALL giraffe!

Dang cute Adair kids!
Reagan, Bradon, Carsten and Ethan just hangin on a wire!
Oh yeah, and check out those camels in the background!

This peacock wanted to show off his feathers.  It was quite the show!

This is Emily and Heidi, Heidi is holding Marcus, and Luke and Vanessa are in the stroller.
Cute bunch huh?

The Living Planet Aquarium

Bradon, Carsten, Ethan, Reagan and Talan.
After going  to Classic Skate we went to The Living Planet Aquarium.
Ethan heard about the Aquarium at school and has just been dying to go!
It was actually pretty cool and the kids had a good time.
Swimming with the Jellies!
(For some reason Reagan was afraid of the jellies so she wouldn't get in the picture.)
This is Reagan saying "Mom, it's just like in Little Mermaid!"
She was so excited!
When Talan finally woke up he was mesmerized by the fish tanks!

Ethan found a secret door!
He first noticed the key hole and then he noticed that it was  door!
This was all VERY exciting!

Carsten liked looking at the stingrays!  But he had no interest in touching them!

Reagan climbed up to this little pedestal and just sat there.
She loved it for some reason.
Bradon loved the stingrays!  He wanted to touch one so bad!
After going back to the tank time and time again, he finally touched one!

Classic Skate

Reagan is so cute!
You should have seen her at Classic Skate!
She did her little scooter around and around the skate rink most of the time.
She was in her element!  I asked if she wanted to eat and she said "No, I want to ride my scooter!"  At one point a boy ran over her and she was crying.  I ran out to her and asked her if she wanted to take a break for awhile and she said "No, I want to ride my scooter!"
I tried to get an action shot of her riding but my camera was too slow.  Dang she was cute out there!
Bradon has some pretty good scooter skills!
He and his friends were off and running the whole time we were there.
By the time we left his hair was all wet with sweat!
Ethan had a good time at Classic Skate.
He helped me out a lot with Reagan.  He took her on the bouncy houses, in the jungle play place and did the arcade games with her.  I don't know what I would do without my big helper  Ethan!
By the end he was wheezing and we had to go do a treatment in the car!
Carsten is so darn fast that I couldn't get a picture of him until he stopped to eat.
He had a great time too!  He and his little friends stayed busy playing and having fun the whole time!
For a spring break activity we went to Classic Skate with our neighbors, The Gregory's.
They have 4 boys and 1 girl just like us.  The kids have a good time playing with them!

BYU Football

BYU! BYU! BYU! BYU! BYU! BYU!

DAVID TOOK US ALL TO BYU FOR A YOUTH CLINIC
AND SPRING SCRIMMAGE GAME!
WE HAD OUR PICTURE TAKEN WITH MAX HALL,
THE QUARTERBACK FOR BYU!
Max Hall is from Mesa, Arizona.  He went to Mountain View High School.

CARSTEN MAY BE SMALL, BUT HE'S TOUGH!
(Even tough someone kicked him in the eye and he's got a shiner today!)

BRADON HAD FUN RUNNING SOME LINEBACKER DRILLS!

ETHAN CHEERED THEM ON WITH HIS COUGAR
PAW PRINT NOISE MAKERS.

AND REAGAN DID HER BEST JOB AT BEING CUTE!
Talan (Not shown) slept through it like the good baby that he is!

Weddings

Ethan and Bradon were both invited to
wedding receptions this week!

Bradon got invited to his last years first grade teacher, Miss Houghton's wedding reception.  Her reception was at The Gardens at Thanksgiving point.  Bradon was so excited that she was getting married and that he was invited.  There were quite a few kids at the reception that Bradon knew.  It was a total party!  Carsten is desperately hoping that Miss Houghton (who is now Mrs. Oxley) will be his teacher next year.  I think that Carsten seeing her in her wedding dress is what did it.   Reagan was very impressed with her beautiful wedding gown too!  After all, she did look like a princess!

A little cute and funny story:
On the way to the reception Bradon was asking me when Miss Houghton was going to open up her wedding present.  I told him that everyone does it different, lots of people don't open their presents until after they come home from their honeymoon.  He asked me what a honeymoon was.  I told him that a honeymoon was when a new married couple goes on vacation together to celebrate their marriage.  He said "Oh yeah, I know!  I think that for sure mostly they go on a picnic!"  I asked "They go on a picnic for their honeymoon?"  He said "Yeah, mostly!"  So then I asked him if that is what he was going to do for his honeymoon.  He said "I don't know, probably!"  I love kids and the way they think!
So I hope that Mr. and Mrs. Oxley have a great time on their picnic!

Ethan was invited to his karate instructors reception.  Mr. Young married Miss Taylor.  The two of them have been Ethan's karate instructors for almost two years now.  All I have to say is that it's about time they got married!  Ethan was thrilled they were getting married and that he got to go to the reception.  I had a lot of fun going with Ethan.  Ethan is really growing up fast!  Before I know it I'll be going to his reception!

Grandparents Day

'Grandpa' Uncle Jay came to the kids school for Grandparents day!
The kids say that 'Grandpa' Uncle Jay is their substitute Grandpa.
Ethan says that he's the assistant Grandpa.
Whatever he is, we think that he does a good job and we appreciate him!
Thanks 'Grandpa' Uncle Jay!

Carsten and Grandpa Uncle Jay had a good time playing games together.

Bradon interviewed Grandpa Uncle Jay
asking him what things were like when he was a kid.

Ethan showed Grandpa Uncle Jay his Mac and all the sound effects on garage band.

After all the fun and excitement of Grandparents day
we went to Kountry Korner for a beer (soda).
Grandpa Uncle Jay taught the kids all sorts of fun things like:
Railroad crossing without any cars, can you spell that without any R's?
And he showed them a trick twirling a pen in his hands.  The kids wanted to learn how to do it so bad.  He showed them over and over again and told them that if they could figure it out and do it, then he would buy them some chicken strips.  Ethan was hungry and that's all the motivation it took.  He finally figured it out and Grandpa Uncle Jay was true to his word and chicken was had by all!
It was a good day and I think that everyone had a great time!
Thanks again Uncle Jay, you're a real good 'Grandpa'!

Here's our little Reagan bug!

Reagan is so much fun!  She is my little helper around the house and with 'her baby Talan'.  Whenever I say "my baby" she corrects me and says "He's not your baby.  He's my baby, he's your baby, he's all of ours baby!  Not just yours!" She is a little mother hen and I love it!  She wants to be right there helping with every aspect of being a mother.  From changing Talan's diaper to disciplining her older brothers.  She can hardly wait until she's a mother.  The other day Reagan told me "When I'm a mom I'm going to have a baby in my tummy and fat boobs like you!"  She said it with a look on her face likes it's just a matter of fact and she's proud!  All I have to say to that is, You Go Girl!

Reagan is 100% girl with lots of boy examples all around her.  She knows how to hold her own and get what she wants!  She loves to shop for clothes and shoes and well, anything really.  She just likes to get stuff!  She loves to play house and dress up and she loves to sing.  She likes to look cute and she notices when people tell her that she's cute and she likes it.  My friend had taken her to a store where several people had commented on how cute she was.  When they left the store my friend told Reagan that all the people in the store thought that she was cute and Reagan said "No! Only two people said I was cute!"  Too funny!

Reagan has a friend named Nyah who is a year older than her.  Reagan loves Nyah!  She wants to look like Nyah, she wants her hair to be long like Nyah's, she always wants to play with Nyah and whenever Reagan plays imaginary anything, Reagan is Nyah!  Sometimes I worry about Reagan's obsession about Nyah, but I guess it's normal for a kid to idolize someone older than themselves......I guess!

Something cute that Reagan says is "Don't be mean at me!"  or "He's being mean at me!" or "I'm mean at him!" I love it when she says this.  for some reason I think that it is just so cute!  Occasionally Reagan and I have it out with each other.  She might not want to wear what I want her to wear, or she might not want her hair done, or her underwear or her socks are 'hurting her' and we have a little power struggle.  Occasionally I give into her, but most the time I win with her saying "FINE THEN!"  or "Don't be mean at me!"  I love my little Reagan bug, attitude and all!  I wouldn't change her for the world!

Spring Snowman!

BRADON,
CARSTEN
& REAGAN
Went out and had a little photo shoot with their spring snowman!

Monday morning we woke up to a little spring snowfall.  It was funny because all the kids were upset when they looked outside.  Bradon insisted that he needed to stay home from school because he was so upset that it was snowing.  Ethan told me that all the kids at school hate it when it snows now.  I told them that they only didn't like it because it's the end of winter, but I assured them that spring was coming and good weather was on it's way.  Ethan thought about it and then said, IT IS SPRING!

Cub Scouts

Ethan is a Webelo!
At a recent pack meeting he received some award for something he did.  As you can see from the look on his face, he is very excited about it!
We are very proud of our Ethan!
I think that for the most part he enjoys going to scouts and learning new things.
Way to go Ethan, we love you!

Bradon is a wolf!
This is a picture of him right after he received his Bobcat!  They do this war paint ceremony thing every time a cub scout advances.  The first time they did this in a pack meeting the boys weren't so sure about it but now the boys love it and look forward to it.  We love our Bradon and his excitement and love for life!
Congratulations Bradon!
