Reaganism

I want to drink him!

Caramel Apples

Sunday night we made caramel apples.
We dipped the apples in caramel, drizzled chocolate over them and then the kids chose to roll them in sprinkles.
Scrumptious!

Look at those faces!
I think they were all pretty proud of their apples.
 Good work guys!

Doing his work.

Talan has lots of work to do around the house!
He is really pretty good at doing his work!
He works quickly and efficiently!
We are really proud of him and all of his hard work!
How could you be upset with a face like this working so hard?
He's just too cute!

Quote of the day

Today Reagan said,
"I wish I had a mom that didn't say,
I don't have any money!"

First snow fall.....

Today is October 12th and we woke up to our first snow fall of the season.  Isn't it beautiful?

Before we had the kids get ready for church we let them go outside and play in it.  They rolled huge snow balls with plans of making a huge snowman but then never quite got it stacked together before it was time to come inside.

Talan watched all the fun from inside the warmth of our home!

By the time church was over the snow was all melted.  But not the big huge snow balls, they remain intact!

Professional cake decorator?

I was hired by one of my neighbors to decorate a cake for her son's birthday this past week.  They went to a place called Jump On It!
I decorated the cake putting the Jump On It logo on the cake.  I think that it turned out okay.  It was kind of fun decorating a cake for someone else.  She seemed to like how it turned out and that made it totally worth it!
So does this make me a professional?
In a few weeks I'm going to be teaching a class at my ward's enrichment night on decorating cakes too.  It should be an interesting experience.  Definitely something I have never done before!

Our smallest little bug!

Last weekend I was more tired than I have been in years!
On Saturday it rained all day long.  In the morning we had football games for the kids (They both won their games.) and then we went to a friends house for lunch where we partook of the yummiest white chili I have ever tasted!  (Thanks Jen, your the best!)  Then we came home and I crashed!  Well, David and I both crashed!
Our budding photographer Ethan took pictures of the event!

Pretty soon our smallest little bug came over to play!
He woke up David....

And then David lifted him up to wake me up too!
This is a picture taken right before he bit my nose!  There is just nothing greater than the feeling of a little slobbery mouth gumming the heck out of your nose!  I love this boy!

Cute and innocent as can be!

Happy Birthday Carsten!

Yesterday morning Ethan wanted to make a little something for Carsten on the computer as a birthday surprise like he did for Bradon.  Bradon wanted to help out.  So Ethan constructed Carsten's name in 3D letters and Bradon picked the colors.  It was a team effort!  When they were finished they quietly woke Carsten up for the day to show him their surprise for him. Carsten took one look at it and said, "That's stupid!"  They were both immediately offended and angry!  Rightfully so I might say.  So it was a bit of a rocky start to a fabulous birthday!  We had a little talk about being nice and then the three of them posed for this birthday morning picture!

After school Carsten had football practice.  At the end of his practice we had his team sing happy birthday to him.
This is a picture of the team singing.

As soon as they were finished singing the coach yelled, "Dog-pile on Carsten!"  Carsten took off running and the entire team took off after him.  Carsten ran so fast that not one boy could catch him.  The coach then asked, "Did anyone know that Carsten could run so fast?"  Carsten is a fast little sucker!  Especially when he needs to be.

We then had the team hoist him up for this picture.  It was a lot of fun!  The team voted Carsten to be the MVP of practice and he led them out in a team cheer.
We then had cupcakes!

Our BIG 7 year old!
After practice David and I took Carsten to Wingers for his Birthday dinner.  I love taking the kids out to dinner on their special day!  They seated us in a booth and before we sat down we asked Carsten what side of the booth he wanted to sit at.  He chose David's side.  I said, "What?  I give birth to you and you chose to sit with your dad?"  I was just joking and we all laughed!  a few minuets later Carsten slid under the table.  We asked him what he was doing and he said that he decided to sit with me.  Ah! I kind of felt bad for making him feel bad, but I was happy to sit with him!  What a good kid!

We love you Carsten!
Happy Birthday!

50 things about me!

Here are 50 things about me that you may or may not know in no particular order.

1.  I hate housework!  Especially the laundry!  I have no problem doing the laundry but folding it and putting it away is just about more than I can handle!  It's rarely completely done!
2.  I like decorating my house.
3.  I love listening to loud music in the car.
4.  I love Disneyland!  It's truly the happiest place on earth!
5.  I go on a drink run almost everyday!  Diet Caffeine Free Coke is my flavor of choice.
6.  I am not a germ a phoebe.  I believe in the 10 second rule!
7.  I IRON EVERY SINGLE DAY!  It's an obsession.  I can't stand the feel of wrinkly clothes.  I even use to iron my practice clothes before volleyball.  I iron my kids clothes everyday too, but not David's, he can iron his own!
8.  I love going to craft shows but I rarely buy anything at them.
9.  I am a people person.  I love to be with people!  I do not enjoy being all alone.
10.  I secretly would love to run a marathon in my lifetime!
11.  I am afraid of the ocean.
12.  I'm an all or nothing kind of girl!  (My house is either really clean or really dirty.  I eat really good or really bad.)
13.  I love a PARTY!  Especially a theme party!  I love birthday parties, holiday parties, or even just a family gathering.  I just love any excuse for a party!
14.  I love going out to lunch with girlfriends.  I can hardly wait for Paradise Bakery to open up.
15.  I love a good chic flick!
16.  I love candy!  Sugar really, sweets, I just can't live without it!  I'm a sucker for new candy that I have never tried before.  You know, Limited edition kind of stuff.  I can't pass it up!
17.  I love to get out of the house to go..... ANYWHERE!  I don't like being home all the time.
18.  I have a poor memory of things that I've heard but I can usually remember things that I've seen.  I relate with the character Dori on Finding Nemo quite a bit.
19.  I don't like to cook nor do I think I'm very good at it.
20.  I hate shopping for clothes.  I especially hate to try things on!
21.  I love to make cookies!
22.  I don't like to read.
23.  I'm not quick on my feet.  I usually leave situations thinking about what I should have said.
24.  I struggle making decisions about things that don't really matter.  Like what flavor of ice cream I want, or where should we go to dinner.
25.  I don't like routines!  I never stick to any sort of routine.  I get up everyday and do something a little different.
26.  I hate to be told what to do!
27.  I love sports!  I like to watch almost any sport including Nascar.  I only like to play sports where other people don't touch me.  Like Volleyball and Tennis!
28.  I played Volleyball and Tennis in college on a scholarship.
29.  I served a mission in Japan and then worked for American Express speaking Japanese.  I can hardly speak Japanese today!
30.  I like to make lists.  I am most productive when I make lists.  I make lists on any scrap piece of paper I can find, usually envelopes.
31.  I love sleeping on my stomach.
32.  I am NOT a morning person.  I always request PM for my kids at school.
33.  I am attracted to people who are down to earth.
34.  My self esteem is hinged upon my weight.
35.  I can sleep through any noise that David makes in the morning but if I hear as much as a peep out of any of my children I am awake immediately!
36.  I worry myself sick before any kind of trip we go on.
37.  I have always been hard on myself.
38.  I like visitors!
39.  I think that the carpool lane should NEVER have a double white line!  We should be able to go in and out of it as we need!  There is nothing more irritating than getting behind some slow person in the car pool lane and not being able to get out!  It defeats the whole purpose of the lane!  Getting in the car pool lane shouldn't be a gamble!
40.  I am always late!  No matter how early I start to get ready, I can never seem to be ready on time.  I'm going to blame this on genetics!
41.  I wish that I could sing and play the piano.  Not necessarily at the same time!
42.  I NEVER wash my face before I go to bed!
43.  I listen to church music EVERY sunday!

45.  I like being around funny people!
46.  I am not consistent about ANYTHING!
47.  I can't multitask!
48.  I like "hanging out with the boys!"  Playing golf, watching football,... that kind of stuff!  I don't know why, I just do!
49.  I like talking on the phone.
50.  I love to hold a sleeping baby and can't stand to hear my babies cry.  This explains why my kids don't sleep through the night until they are one!

So there you have it, 50 things about me!

Birthday for two!

Bradon and Carsten both wanted to go to
the Classic FUN Center for their birthday party...
so we had a birthday for two!

We sang Happy Birthday to Bradon....

And then Happy Birthday to Carsten!

All the kids had fun playing in the jungle and...

Skating!

I think that everyone had a FUN time!

There is just nothing better than killing two birds with one stone.  Bradon and Carsten don't seem to mind sharing their birthday parties with one another.  They have lots of the same friends and they enjoy most of the same sort of activities and so it works out nicely!
Happy Birthday Bradon and Carsten!
