The Easter Morning Egg/Basket Hunt!

The kids look forward to our traditional Easter Egg/Basket hunt every year.  Our Easter Bunny hides 5 eggs for each child with clues inside leading them to the next egg and then finally to their easter basket.  It's a lot of fun watching them get so excited for the event!  They have to wait for everyone to wake up before we can begin because we start with the youngest child and work our way up.  This year was Talan's first year and he took his sweet little time waking up.  It was literally killing the kids to have to wait.  Finally they snuck upstairs and woke him up!

Good morning Talan!

Talan was so funny!
The kids read his clues and then when he would find the egg he would just throw it on the ground like a ball.  He was very easily distracted.  The kids would run into one room to find his next egg and he would run into another room to play with a toy.

Come on Talan, get with the program little man!

Finally after a long hard hunt he found his basket in the master bathroom.  The funniest part was that he walked right past his basket to play with the door stop!  Classic 15 month old!

Reagan is getting this hunting thing down.  Except for we did discover that she didn't know what a "grill" was.  We had to help her out with that one.

It's cute to see how the kids react when all the attention is on them.  They love every second of it, acting a little shy and silly!

Reagan found her basket in her closet.  It was all PINK!  This year all the kids baskets were color coordinated with the eggs they found.  Reagan's eggs were pink and her basket contents were all pink too!

Carsten was quick to find all of his eggs.

Cute kid!
He even found a few of Talan's eggs before the hunt began.

He found his basket in the corner of his room almost under his bed.

Bradon is pretty darn quick too!  His first clue said, "You love to hunt for eggs, Wii love to watch you find them!"  He ran to the Wii before he even finished reading the clue!  Little smarty pants!

This kid couldn't be tricked!

He actually knew where his basket was before the hunt began.  He "Accidently" found it!  Yeah right, whatever!

Ethan loves to savor his hunt!  He takes his time enjoying every moment.  It's big, it's red, it's new...  What in the heck could that be?  As Ethan thought about it Carsten was dying to just go to the truck to get the egg.  Finally Carsten blurted it out, THE TRUCK!!!
 Ethan was like, oh yeah!

It's so cute how no matter how old they get
they still love this simple tradition!

And there he found his basket in his basement room
behind the LA-Z-BOY!

Happy Easter kids!
We are glad that you had a good time!
