Major League Baseball

First of all I have to start off by saying that this is one cute kid! There is almost nothing cuter than watching a 3 year old help himself to a drinking fountain!

This drinking fountain just so happened to be
just his size!

I'm pleased to announce that Talan survived a whole season of baseball games. Weather he was going to games or being babysat at home with Ethan... he survived! And I don't want to underestimate the amount of time we were at ball games. It was literally COUNTLESS HOURS!

We all endured freezing cold temperatures, high winds, rain/snow, mixed with a little hot and sunny temperatures. Talan endured a little bully of a girl who while playing at the playground punched him in the stomach all because he was so innocently sticking his tongue out at her! {Some life lessons are a little painful!} We spent who knows how much money at the snack shack throughout the season all in the attempt of making Talan happy!


Bradon played on the city league's major league team THE REDS!

This year Bradon struggled a little at the bat which is so unlike him. He has always been one of those players that you never have to worry about getting on base. Bradon always figured out a way to get on! This year Bradon played super league and city league all at the same time and so he was playing in a lot of games each week. Week after week he continued to struggle. It broke my heart because I knew that it was breaking his heart. But you know that baseball is a loosing sport! Players fail more than they succeed and that's totally normal! It's totally expected! Well as the season went on he finally started to turn it around.

The Reds made it all the way to the championship game against the Pirates and Bradon ended his season with a 3 run home run over the center field fence!

It was awesome!
You've never seen so many parents thrilled to see someone hit one out of the park! The game was played at the American Fork city league closing ceremony night so there were hundreds of people there. All the kids and parents from his super league team were there too and they were all going crazy with excitement for Bradon! My cousin Deanna turned to me and while giving me a high five said, "Bradon, the unassuming hero!"
They ended up loosing the game and taking 2nd place but what a great season they had!

Davis Rasmussen {My cousin Deanna's son} played on the same team with Bradon. He was one of the best pitchers in the league. It was fun to watch him pitch! He throws the ball hard and fast!

Bradon played a lot of left field this year. He's found that he really likes playing in the outfield. He's good at it! He's good at judging where the ball is going... and not all kids are good at that!

Bradon loves baseball! He's really into it. Some kids start to daydream and quit paying attention after awhile but not Bradon! He's always paying attention, thinking and ready to go! He's great at backing up the bases. He's never lazy, he backs them up every time! These aren't things that most people are going to notice unless it doesn't get done. And Bradon's one that get's it done! But like Deanna said, he's unassuming!

David loves baseball just as much as Bradon. He's always working with the kids to help them improve their skills. He's not afraid to coach his kids in a loud and boisterous voice from behind the backstop either. Sometimes I find myself telling David to tone it down. I mean David has an extremely loud voice anyways and so when he's actually trying to be loud, it's REALLY LOUD! I worry that he's going to embarrass the kids! But no, it turns out that they like it! They listen to him and they do what he says. Now if I could just put out a little disclaimer to all the parents sitting in listening range!

Anyways like I said the Red's played in the championship game and came up just short of being victorious but they had a fabulous year! I didn't bring my camera to the championship game and so I don't have pictures of him hitting his home run, competing in the home run derby or receiving his trophy. But know that it all happened and fun was had by all!

Bradon was asked to play on one of the All-Star teams and so just like Carsten his season was extended! And since their season's was extended, Grandma Adair extended her stay with us too!
It was a win win for everyone!
